Your future team

You will be working in the Global Business Resilience team, reporting to the Head of Business Resilience, within Governance, Risk, & Compliance. The Resilience team focuses on Crisis Management, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and Emergency Management. We take a global approach to resilience while working and developing relationships locally.

The Governance, Risk, & Compliance department is a relatively small team with big impact. It is a high visibility group working with Atlassian business and technology teams across the globe. Our responsibilities include risk discovery and assessment, mitigation and controls oversight, compliance oversight, and reporting. Our purpose is to provide methodologies, structures, processes and oversight to allow effective identification, analysis, reporting, and management of risk throughout the environment. We work with virtually every team within the organization - Legal, Security, Marketing, Finance, Customer Support, Field Operations, all product groups, HR, the executive team, etc. We also collaborate with business partners, consultants, and directly with customers.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the global crisis management program, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness for global operations, with considerations for handling crisis events in different time zones.

  • Lead the development, execution, and continuous enhancement of crisis management and incident response strategies, including the creation of detailed plans and playbooks, tailored to accommodate global and local needs.

  • Work with the team to spearhead comprehensive crisis management training and awareness programs, ensuring team members across the organization are well-prepared and knowledgeable about protocols, especially those relevant to cross-time zone crisis management.

  • Develop and refine frameworks and methodologies designed to identify, analyze, assess, address, monitor, and report on risks that could impact operations locally in India, as well as globally, with a keen focus on enhancing cross-time zone crisis management capabilities.

  • Champion the adoption of risk management frameworks and methodologies throughout the company, fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience.

Minimum Qualifications / Your background:

  • Incident and Crisis Management: Hands-on experience in managing incidents and crises, showcasing the ability to make decisive actions under pressure and lead organizations through challenging situations.

  • Resilience-Related Experience: Deep experience in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive assurance strategies related to resilience (Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, Crisis/Incident Management, and Emergency Management).

  • Risk Management: Background in risk assessment and management, including familiarity with risk management frameworks and both qualitative and quantitative risk analysis techniques.

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively across different departments, driving organizational change and resilience practices through strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Training and Exercises: Proven experience in developing, conducting, and evaluating resilience training programs and exercises to enhance organizational preparedness across various levels.

  • Compliance and Assurance: Knowledge of and experience with compliance standards and frameworks related to resilience, such as ISO 22301, and leading assurance activities to ensure adherence.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Technology, Emergency Management, or a related field is typically required. This provides a solid academic foundation for the complexities of resilience and assurance roles.

  • Master's Degree (Preferred): A master's degree in Information Technology, Communications, Risk Management, or a related field can be advantageous. While not always required, it can distinguish candidates by demonstrating advanced understanding and commitment to the field.

  • 5+ Years of Experience in driving Crisis Management capabilities within a company with global operations
