Responsibilities

Your Future Team

Our dynamic and collaborative Privacy team is comprised of global privacy professionals working to scale privacy compliance, enhance customer trust, and foster product innovation as trusted business advisors. We're hiring a Director of Privacy, reporting to the Senior Director of Privacy for Data Platform and AI/ML.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Privacy teammates, Trust Engineering, and Data Governance teams to design and implement technical solutions and controls for privacy requirements

  • Advise data engineering and analytics teams on privacy considerations for customer data lifecycle and use, including AI and machine learning

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership (including trust, compliance, and others) on customer privacy initiatives

  • Scale Atlassian’s privacy program by identifying and developing strategies for privacy engineering and privacy-enhancing technologies

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Necessary qualifications to practice law in your local jurisdiction

  • 6+ years practicing law

  • Deep knowledge of global privacy regulations and frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, etc.)

  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders and legal teammates to advise on privacy engineering and technical implementation of privacy controls

  • Experience distilling complex legal and technical concepts for leadership audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPP/E, CIPP/US, and/or AIGP Certification

  • 3+ years of in-house experience

  • 3+ years of law firm experience

  • Knowledge of AI-related laws, regulations, and frameworks

  • Experience developing and implementing strategies for privacy-enhancing technologies
