As a Senior Engineering Manager (M60) at Atlassian, you are a proven people leader with deep technical capabilities who can understand, influence, and drive complex technical and architectural decisions. You will lead an engineering team (typically across multiple workstreams/scrum teams), partnering closely with Product Management, Design, and Principal Engineers to deliver scalable, reliable, and customer-centric software.

In this role, you will get to:

• Build & Grow High-Performing Teams: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of talented engineers across different experience levels. Support their career development, foster a healthy, inclusive, and high-ownership team culture, and drive recruitment to scale the team.

• Drive Delivery & Strategic Execution: Own the end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-stream projects. Translate broader product vision and strategy into actionable technical roadmaps, milestones, and delivery plans while effectively managing dependencies and risks.

• Shape Technical Strategy & Architecture: Partner with Architects, Tech Leads, and Senior ICs to guide architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs (scalability, reliability, performance, cost, and velocity), and ensure sustainable platform and system design.

• Champion Engineering & Operational Excellence: Set high standards for software craftsmanship, code quality, testing, CI/CD, and system observability. Drive operational rigor, healthy on-call practices, SLI/SLO adherence, and proactive technical debt / toil reduction.

• Cross-Functional & Cross-Geo Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and partner engineering teams across global time zones to ensure alignment, clear communication, and high-impact business outcomes.

• Navigate Ambiguity: Bring structure, clarity, and direction to complex, evolving problem spaces, empowering your team to execute effectively with high autonomy.
